You can choose the major Biomedical Imaging and Sensing as part of the following Master's degree program:
The major includes at least 50 ECTS credits.
In the Biomedical Imaging and Sensing major, you will acquire knowledge of the fundamental principles, devices and methods for the acquisition, processing, analysis and visualization of biomedical data. This interdisciplinary field combines chemistry, physics, mathematics and engineering and has applications in biology, neuroscience and medicine. You will learn the scientific and technological foundations of imaging techniques such as microscopy, ultrasound, X-ray, MRI, PET and CT and get hands-on experience in laboratories, including state-of-the-art techniques based on machine learning.
Some courses in the program include:

At the Institute of Biomedical Imaging, we develop innovative methods for imaging and sensor technology with a focus on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), one of the most advanced medical imaging technologies. In cooperation with local and international partners, we work on the further development of bioimaging technologies and their clinical applications. A modern 3 Tesla MRI scanner and well-equipped laboratories for the development of MRI/NMR probes and medical sensors are available for research projects. We also offer a large number of diploma theses that are closely integrated into current research projects.
The Institute of Biomedical Imaging is supporting the interdisciplinary student’s group "INSIGHT", the aim of which is to reproduce and further improve a published custom-built tabletop-MR scanner. The device should also be used as a prototyping-tool for MRI. As the DIY-scanner doesn’t measure more than half a typical office desk, it shall be used for teaching and practical hands-on experiments.
