The 24-hour pick-up service is now available for books from the NAWI and Inffeld subject libraries.

To have your books automatically delivered to you via the pick-up-service, please provide the library with your mobile phone number by e-mail, telephone or in person at the circulation desk.

Open Access Funding for FWF Projects

From 1 January 2024, the Open Access team of TU Graz will take over the processing of FWF Open Access funding.

The FWF’s Peer-Reviewed Publications program will be replaced by the FWF Open Access Block Grant, which is administered through the Library's Open Access Team. From 1 January 2024, please contact the Open Access team directly before submitting articles from FWF-funded projects. Authors will no longer need to submit an application to the FWF.

Legal and Ethical Aspects of Research Data, and Data Management Plans

The RDM team is hosting an event on the legal and ethical aspects of research data on 7 December.

This event will introduce and deal with legal aspects of digital objects necessitating data management planning. There are requirements for research results to meet privacy, confidentiality and cultural considerations. You will hear details on legal bases for digital objects created or managed during the research process featuring talks by several legal experts. In addition, the new DMP tool will be introduced.

Avoiding rejection: Successfully Navigating the Publishing Process

Join TU Graz Library and Victoria Babbit from Taylor & Francis on 16 November to find out how to publish successfully in a journal!

Each year millions of articles are rejected by journals. While experiencing rejection in the publishing process is a normal aspect of every researcher’s work life, there are ways to reduce the rate of rejection.

This workshop looks at some of the main reasons for articles being rejected and provides tips for avoiding that fate. The workshop will look specifically at journal selection, manuscript preparation, publishing ethics, and the peer-review process.

Course for doctoral students

With 'Finding scientific information and publishing your research', the Library offers PhD students a course on the 'research lifecycle' - fully online.

From effective research to choosing the right journal for your research and using research data: The seminar 'Finding scientific information and publishing your research results' offers PhD students in particular an intensive introduction to areas of scientific work on the way to their own publication. Participants will learn how to develop their own research strategies, how to distinguish between serious and predictive publishers, how to increase their visibility in the scientific community and how to deal with their own and other people's research data.

The course starts on 5 October. Registration closes on 4 October.

„Scheinklimaschutz überwinden“: Lecture by Reinhard Steurer

As part of the event series "Österreich liest. Treffpunkt Bibliothek", Reinhard Steurer, Professor of Climate Policy at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna will talk about superficial climate protection and how we can overcome it.

Despite 30 years of climate policy, we continue to exacerbate the climate crisis. For decades, we have been addressing the climate crisis psychologically rather than physically, including fooling ourselves into believing that we are seriously working on solutions, while primarily preserving our fossil lifestyle. In his talk, Reinhard Steurer will explain how society can overcome this superficial climate protection and what really helps.

Training on Campus: Maximising the use of CAS SciFinder-n

On the 5th and 6th of June, the TU Graz Library offers a training series on the database CAS SciFinder-n with Ralf Heim and Lena Blumenthal – suitable for beginners and advanced users.

CAS SciFinder-n is a specialised database for chemistry and related fields such as chemical engineering, materials science, pharmacology, biology and biotechnology. It allows you to search for literature references, substances and reactions. We have invited Ralf Heim and Lena Blumenthal, experts in CAS SciFinder-n, to give the training sessions.

The training sessions will take place over two consecutive days (5 and 6 June) and will consist of the following optional modules:

Copyright and exploitation rights when publishing

On May 23rd, the library will host a talk by lawyer Dr. Rainer Beck on copyright in the university context.

New Open-Access Website & Publishing Agreements

The library's open access website has been newly revised and is now also available in English.

The website with the new design can be accessed via www.openaccess.tugraz.at/en. There, you also find information about the new publishing agreements with Oxford University Press and Taylor & Francis, in whose journals corresponding authors from TU Graz publish now without any additional costs. Additionally, since 2023, the library supports Subscribe to Open for the "Pacific Journal of Mathematics" published by MSP.

New e-books: Cambridge University Press

The library is expanding its e-book collection: all titles in the "Science, Technology, Medicine" collection from Cambridge University Press have recently become available to you.

The collection comprises of roughly 11,000 titles from the last six years and is available until the end of 2023. After that, the library will acquire the most-used e-books permanently.

You find all titles as usual via the search bar in TU Graz LibrarySearch. In addition, we present the entire collection in our “display window”. This allows you to exclusively browse the included titles and to search for specific keywords within the collection.

Opening "Architekturarchiv Steiermark"

On November 30 the "Architekturarchiv Steiermark" opens its doors. TU Graz Archives invites all interesed parties to the opening event.

The foundation of the "Architekturarchiv Steiermark"(ASt) is a joint initiative of the HDA Graz, the Institute for Architectural Theory, Art and Cultural Studies (akk) of TU Graz and TU Graz Archives, which will contribute their expertise to the archiving, research and presentation of the pre- and after estates of Styrian architectural offices. The architectural holdings of the TU Graz Archives, which comprise some 70,000 pictorial documents, 55,000 plans and around 50 architectural models, form the basis of the ASt. The aim is to acquire further holdings and to become the first address for research into Styrian architectural history of the 20th and 21st centuries.

'Finding scientific literature and publishing your texts'

TU Graz library offers this semester its course on various topics of the research lifecycle completely online.

From effective information retrieval to finding the right journal for publishing your manuscript: The seminar 'Finding scientific literature and publishing your texts' offers PhD candidates an intensive introduction to various aspects of academic work ranging from retrieving information to the final publication. In this hands-on seminar participants learn how to develop a search strategy, distinguish predatory from trustworthy publishers and how to rise ones visibility within the scientific community.

„Krisensicher durch Daten“ Lecture by Peter Klimek

As part of the event series "Österreich liest. Treffpunkt Bibliothek ", complexity scientist Peter Klimek speaks about global crises and how we can face them as a society.

Today's challenges are manifold: Global crises such as climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic or instabilities in supply chains keep the world on its toes. At the same time, even local events can have a global impact. This makes them so-called complex systems. They carry a high risk of system-wide collapse.

Peter Klimek calculates the risks of such systems and makes them - to a certain extent - predictable. How our society benefits from this data, Peter Klimek – winner of “Wissenschafter des Jahres 2021” – explains in this lecture.

Publish free of charge in ACM journals

TU Graz Library signed a Read-and-Publish agreement with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Researchers are now able to publish in all ACM journals and selected proceedings series without additional costs.

All corresponding authors who are staff members of TU Graz publish Open Access articles free of charge. There is no limitation regarding the number of published OA articles. Scientists have no obligation to publish Open Access. The agreement is funded by the Austrian Transition to Open Access 2 (AT2OA²) project and is valid until December 31, 2024.

New online textbooks for physics and chemistry

For the first time, the library makes twenty of the most demanded Wiley textbooks for physics and chemistry available online.

All new textbooks are listed in the TU Graz LibrarySearch. For accessing the textbooks, please click the link to the platform Ciando in the detailed view of the books. You can read all books online, downloading the e-books is not possible.

On April 5 the Library is presenting an online workshop with Eszter Lukács, IEEE Client Services Manager, on how to get published by IEEE.

New Opening hours from February 28

Due to the traffic light status YELLOW at TU Graz, all library branches have extended opening hours from February 28.

Main Library
Mon – Fri, 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Subject Libraries NAWI and Inffeld
Mon – Thu, 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Fri, 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Additionally, the minimum distance will be reduced to one meter from March 1. This will allow us to offer you more places to work and study in the reading rooms. The group rooms of the main library and the subject library Inffeld will be bookable, the foyer in the main library will open again from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

All buildings of TU Graz will be open to the public from March. Therefore, we are happy to welcome external users again from this date.

Also, the 2,5G rule (i.e. PCR-tested, vaccinated, recovered) will be in effect at all library locations. Please have a valid certificate ready when visiting us. The library staff will check it if necessary.

Please continue to follow the rules for distancing and hygiene. We provide you with disinfectants in all library areas to disinfect your work space on your own. In addition, please wear an ffp2 mask and register your stay with TU Graz check-in at your seat.

Information event: The FWF Open Access Policy and Open Access Funding Options

TU Graz Library is presenting an online information event with the title “The FWF Open Access Policy and Open Access Funding Options” on 26 January 2022. Katharina Rieck, MA MA, Open Science Manager at the FWF, will present the development and current requirements of the FWF Open Access Policy and discuss funding opportunities for open access publications.

The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) is Austria's central funding organization for basic research and supports the ongoing development of Austrian science and basic research at a high international level.

In this event you will learn:

• what the FWF Open Access Policy means for approved projects,
• how to obtain funding for scientific articles through the FWF's “Refereed Publications” program, and
• which funding opportunities the FWF offers for open access books.

Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to ask questions to the lecturer.

Traffic light status RED: TU Graz Library remains open for TU Graz staff and students

When TU Graz switches to traffic light status RED on January 10, the library stays open for staff and students of TU Graz. Therefore, the opening hours of all library locations remain unchanged:

Main Library: Mon - Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Subject libraries NAWI and Inffeld: Mon - Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Due to the current situation, some adjustments to our services are still necessary. The learning and reading areas are partially open for TU Graz staff and students: You can use all seats that are visible to our library staff. Unfortunately, you can no longer book our group rooms. The foyer at Technikerstraße 4 will remain closed.

The journal reading room remains open for TU Graz members. All library patrons are eligible to use our free scanning service. Please mail any requests to zeitschriften.bibliotheknoSpam@tugraz.at.

We extend all loan periods automatically to February 7, 2022. There are no overdue fines during this period - this also applies to already overdue resources.

As a staff member or student of TU Graz, please remember to take your TU Graz card with you to enter the library buildings.

Workshop: Effective searches in Compendex

On December 13th the Library is presenting an online workshop on how to search effectively in the database Compendex with Christian Vier from Elsevier.

Compendex is an extensive bibliographic database in the field of engineering and technology. The database lists over 29 million articles and abstracts from over 6,000 journals, congress reports and technical reports across 190 engineering disciplines.

During this session, you will learn:

• how to find relevant publications for your research,
• how to optimize your search queries to get more precise results and
• how to use filter and facets for better results.

After the presentation, there will be time for discussion.

The workshop “Compendex: Effective searches for your success” will be held online on December 13th 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

NEW: Virtual course reserves

From now on, the library offers lecturers at Graz University of Technology virtual course reserves in a new form. 

With virtual course reserves, your students get an overview of all the literature that is needed for a course or of a particular topic that you recommend. Electronic resources can be used directly; for print literature, both the location and availability are displayed.

Virtual course reserves offer lectures a variety of advantages: The library prepares the literature list for you and offers students access via the library’s website and via TU Graz LibrarySearch. 
You can combine print and electronic resources freely. If you want to include print literature in the virtual course reserve, the library will automatically create a physical course reserve at the appropriate library branch. 
Documents from the TeachCenter can also be included in virtual course reserves. If you do so, they are available in the virtual course reserve for participants of your course only and cannot be viewed by third parties.
The link to your virtual course reserve remains stable and can be integrated into other systems such as the TeachCenter or TUGrazonline.

Students can either access these resources via the library's website or directly on the homepage of TU Graz LibrarySearch by clicking on the button "Virtual course reserves". All virtual course reserves can also be found via the search bar of the TU Graz LibrarySearch - either by entering the name of the course reserve into the search bar or via filters in the result lists.

Traffic light status YELLOW from July 1

Due to the traffic light status YELLOW at TU Graz, there will be further easing of the restrictions at all library locations starting July 1.

The minimum distance will be reduced to one meter in July. This will allow us to offer you more places to work and study in the reading rooms. In addition, four people will be allowed in the group room of the main library and six people in the group room of the subject library Inffeld.

As of July 19, all buildings of TU Graz will be open to the public. Therefore, we are happy to welcome external users again from this date.

As of August 16, the 3G rule (i.e. tested, vaccinated, recovered) will be in effect at all library locations. Please have a valid certificate ready when visiting us.  The library staff will check it if necessary.

Please continue to follow the rules for distancing and hygiene. We provide you with disinfectants in all library areas to disinfect your work space on your own. In addition, please wear an ffp2 mask and register your stay with TU Graz check-in at your seat.

Group rooms bookable via TU Graz LibrarySearch

From now on, book the group rooms in the Main Library and the Subject Library Inffeld easily via TU Graz LibrarySearch.

Please find the bookable rooms under the field "Room booking". Once you have successfully booked, they appear with the selected date in your TU Graz LibrarySearch account under "Requests". You can also cancel the booking there if necessary.

The rooms are available during the opening hours of the respective library locations.

Before you can use the room on the booked date, please come to the circulation desk at the respective library location. If you do not show up 30 minutes after the start of your booking, we will automatically cancel the booking.

Workshop:  Possibilities for exploitation – royalties and patents

On April 20th the Library is presenting an online workshop on the possibilities of exploiting research results. The workshop is jointly organized by TU Graz Research & Technology House and the publication services of University of Graz Library.

Experts of both universities will inform participants about their possibilities of exploiting their research results. They will elaborate on how to protect own research results, how to apply for patents and on the compatibility of open access and commercial exploitation. Furthermore, the process of applying at the collecting society Literar Mechana will be discussed.

After the talks, there will be time for discussion with the presenters and Literar Mechana director Dr. Sandra Csillag.

Corona traffic light status “red”: Reading areas remain closed

Due to the extension of the corona traffic light status “red” all reading rooms will unfortunately remain closed and opening hours reduced as of March 15.

Update: Interlibrary-loan service

From now on you will be able to order media from other libraries via the TU Graz LibrarySearch and manage them via your personal account.

To order books or journal articles, please go to TU Graz LibrarySearch and login with your TU Graz online username and password. The button "Interlibrary Loan" will then be displayed at the top of the website. This button leads you to the new online form. To view and manage your orders, take a look into your personal account under “requests”.

New database: Compendex

With Compendex, staff and students of TU Graz now have access to an extensive bibliographic database in the field of engineering and technology.

The database lists over 27 million articles and abstracts from over 6,000 journals, congress reports and technical reports across 190 engineering disciplines. It is the broadest and most complete engineering literature database available in the world.

If you use the database from home, please connect to the network of TU Graz via VPN-client or simply log into Compendex with your TUGRAZonline username and password via the option “Sign in via your institution”.

Access to library via TU Graz card from October 28

Due to the Corona traffic light status Orange a valid TU Graz card is needed to enter the library buildings from October 28 until further notice.

As a member of staff or TU Graz student, please remember to take your TU Graz card with you when you visit the library. NAWI students with no TU Graz card can obtain one free of charge at the TU Graz Registrar’s Office.

External users can unfortunately not enter the library buildings due to measures taken against Covid-19 from 28.10. until further notice. If you have a library card, you can however pick up resources from our holdings and inter-library loans via our pick-up station. New database: ProQuest Dissertations & Theses

Search the world's largest database of dissertations and theses: TU Graz Library provides access to the Science and Engineering Collection of the database.

The database provides access to theses and dissertations: The majority of dissertations from 1997 are available as full texts. In addition, the collection contains a large collection of full texts from 1861 onwards. All dissertations starting from 1980 as well as all master's thesis starting from 1988 include an abstract. Simple bibliographical information for dissertations from 1637 and onwards are another part of the database.

Reading rooms reopening

All reading rooms, the foyer and group rooms will be available again from August 31.

Working and learning areas on all floors of the main library will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The foyer will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you want to use the group rooms of main library and subject library Inffeld a reservation is required. Please go to the circulation desk or contact the respective library branch by phone or email for your reservation. Up to four people are allowed in a group room at the same time.

24-hour pick-up service extended

TU Graz Library extends the new pick-up service: All reserved books from the main library will be automatically deposited at the pick-up station if you choose to activate this option. All you need to use this service is a current mobile phone number.

To offer this service, we need your current mobile phone number. Please send your mobile phone number via email to ausleihe.bibliotheknoSpam@tugraz.at, call 0316 873 6176 or go to the circulation desk at the main library. We make sure your data is processed in compliance with data protection. You can withdraw your consent to use this service at any time.

We furthermore make all books of our open access areas (except the reference collection) available for reservation via TU Graz LibrarySearch. Thus, you can choose from a wider variety of books that can be reserved and collected from our pick-up station outside opening hours.

On the day of the reservation, the books are available at the circulation desk on the third floor until 3 p.m. Afterwards, we deposit them in the station for you to pick them up conveniently at any time within 7 days. Reservations after 3 p.m. are available for you the next day.

Reopening: learning spaces and on-site library resources and publishing guidance

From July 1, 2020, the library reopens selected spaces for reading and studying with and without PCs in all branch libraries. Library resources and publishing guidance will be available again in the main library.

Accessible study places you find in the main library both on the 1st floor (journal reading room) and on the 3rd floor as well as in the subject libraries NAWI and Inffeld. The main library’s reading rooms on the 2nd and 4th floors and the foyer on the ground floor are not available for now.

The library guidance team is available to you on-site from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 am, starting from July 1st. You don’t need an appointment.

Please, continue to disinfect your hands before entering the library and keep your distance. Disinfectants are available at all library branches. You find further security measures for using the learning spaces on-site.

New: Around the clock pick-up service

TU Graz library offers a new pick-up service for books from July 8, 2020: Collect your books at the new pick-up station at the entrance of Technikerstraße 4 – regardless of library opening hours.

The pick-up service was developed in cooperation with SoWAS research project and is currently in trial operation. For now, the service is available for books from the main library’s collection that patrons may reserve via TU Graz LibrarySearch. After the test phase, we are planning to extend the service.

Patrons need a mobile phone to use the pick-up service. As soon as the reservation is ready, you receive a text message including a link to a QR code. With this QR code, you may collect the reserved books at the station at any time.

TU Graz Library reopens on June 2, 2020

Welcome back at TU Graz Library and Archives! We open all our branches on June 2, 2020 with slightly altered opening hours.

Feel free to use the open shelves again, including the reserved books collection at the main library.  The learning and reading areas and our computers, however, cannot be used until further notice.

The journals department and the inter-library loan service at Technikerstraße 4 are also reopening on June 2. Our scan service for journal articles is still available and free of charge. Scanners and copiers are available at all of our branch libraries.

For reservations and orders from the closed stacks please use your personal account at the TU Graz LibrarySearch or ask our staff on site.

Please follow the rules for hygiene and maintain a safe distance to other patrons during your library visit.

Inter-library loan for print copies available

On May 4th inter-library loan of print copies is made available again for TU Graz researchers. All orders are currently free of charge.

We contact you as soon as your books have arrived. Please pick them up on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the foyer of the main library, Technikerstraße 4.

Due to the measures taken against COVID-19 and the closure of some of our partner libraries, we cannot guarantee the availability of all books and journals. We will inform you as soon as possible in case  we cannot process your order.

Now available: virtual textbook collections

All textbook collections are now accessible via TU Graz LibrarySearch under the category "Collections". Lecturers can add both print media and e-books to these collections. Thus, students get online access to the most important books of their courses.

All e-books can be read and downloaded within the virtual textbook collections at TU Graz LibrarySearch. Additionally, you can search for collections using the search bar and the “Collection” facet. Please select this facet on the left side of the website after you have entered your search term.

Lecturers who want to provide their students with a textbook collection via TU Graz LibrarySearch send their requests to service.bibliotheknoSpam@tugraz.at. Links to individual textbook collections remain unchanged and can therefore be forwarded to students for easy access.

TU Graz Library supports students and teachers by offering free videos of scientific experiments from top laboratories around the globe.

Free access to electronic journals and textbooks expanded during COVID-19 pandemic

TU Graz Library supports researchers and students by expanding free access to electronic books and journals in order to make working from home easier.

• TU Graz researchers and students gain free access to all journals published by World Scientific from 2001 onwards. All journals remain freely accessible until June 30, 2020.
• Researchers and students get free access to 450 e-books via the platform SpringerLink. Please visit SpringerLink website and search for a book. Click on the item to find the download link. Please use the following lists to check which titles are free of charge in English and in German. All e-books are temporarily available until July 31, 2020.
• All textbooks on the platform ScienceDirect are free of charge. To download an e-book please visit the ScienceDirect website and search for an item. Free access is granted until July 31, 2020.

Open Knowledge Maps – Lecture and workshop

Open Knowledge Maps offer a visual interface to the world's scientific knowledge. They provide an instant overview of a field by showing the main areas of the field at a glance, and papers related to each area and enable users to create knowledge maps from 150+ million scientific outputs.

Peter Kraker, founder of Open Knowledge Maps, will demonstrate the free and open service on March 4, 2020. The talk will be followed by a hands-on workshop where participants will learn how to improve their discovery skills using Open Knowledge Maps. Together with other participants, they will explore several knowledge maps in a virtual scavenger hunt.

Read & Publish Agreement with Elsevier

TU Graz library – within the Kooperation E-Medien Österreich (KEMÖ) – has concluded an open access agreement with Elsevier.

TU Graz Researchers can publish open access in hybrid Elsevier journals at no additional cost and receive a 15% discount on APCs in Elsevier’s Gold open access journals. The remaining costs of these Gold OA articles can be covered from the TU Graz OA publication fund.

This gives researchers the opportunity to publish open access as well as gain access to relevant research results. The agreement is valid until December 31, 2020.

VDI Verlag is the leading publisher for engineers in German-speaking countries. The library of TU Graz is licensing the electronic library of the renowned publisher, making their journals accessible for researchers at TU Graz.

With “VDI Verlag-eLibrary”, researchers gain online access to the high-quality technical content of VDI Verlag and VDI Fachmedien for the first time. This content includes eleven renowned specialist media from the fields of construction, production, logistics, energy and environment, as well as the weekly newspaper “VDI nachrichten”.

Service restrictions from December 19, 2019 to January 13, 2020

Due to a system upgrade from December 19, 2019 to January 13, 2020 there are major restrictions on library services.

• All library branches are closed from December 23 until January 6. Service requests via mail, telephone or social media will not be processed.
• User accounts of our online catalog are not available from December 19 to January 13.
• The loan history list of all user accounts will be irrevocably deleted on December 19.

All books due from December 16 to January 7 will automatically be renewed until January 27. There are no overdue fees during this period.

Our book return boxes are available from December 23 to January 6 at the entrances of the main library and the subject libraries.

We are open for you on January 7. We apologize for the inconveniences.

As part of the event series "Österreich liest. Treffpunkt Bibliothek ", chemist Nuno Maulide speaks about the parallels between music and chemistry.

Nuno Maulide teaches with unusual methods: As a trained pianist, he likes to teach his scientific field accompanied with live music. Born in Portugal, Nuno Maulide is Professor of Organic Synthesis at the University of Vienna and has received numerous awards such as the Lieben Prize 2019 and the award for "Wissenschafter des Jahres" 2018.

'Finding scientific literature and publishing your texts'

TU Graz library offers this semester a course on various topics of the research lifecycle.

From effective information retrieval to finding the right journal for publishing your manuscript: The seminar 'Finding scientific literature and publishing your texts' offers PhD candidates an intensive introduction to various aspects of academic work ranging from retrieving information to the final publication. In this hands-on seminar participants learn how to develop a search strategy, distinguish predatory from trustworthy publishers and how to rise ones visibility within the scientific community.

New database: Cabells Blacklist

Identify predatory journals with our newly licensed database Cabells Blacklist.

‘Cabells blacklist’ lists so called predatory journals, which are science journals with unethical publishing practices. They charge publication fees without providing the usual quality control - for example, peer reviews. A publication in such a journal mostly happens out of ignorance. Nevertheless, to publish a paper in a predatory journal damage your reputation.

Cabells Blacklist checks the quality of scientific open access journals based on transparent criteria and assesses them at regular intervals. Cabells Blacklist helps you to stay on ‘the safe side’. Just check journals before submitting your manuscript.

If you are still unsure, whether a journal is predatory or not, contact us! We gladly check individual journals or publishers for you.

Award for Open Access Days 2018

Library and Archives of TU Graz won the Congress Award Graz for the Open Access Days 2018.

With the Congress Award, the city of Graz honors event organizers from science, research, business and non-profit organizations.

The topic of the conference was "Diversity of Open Access". Library and Archives of TU Graz attracted a broad national and international audience with the Open Access Days and offered technical lectures, a product exhibition and a tool marketplace for its guests.

Kanopy – Video streaming powered by TU Graz library

With the newly licensed Kanopy database, numerous documentaries and films are freely accessible to TU Graz library patrons.

Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video service that offers thousands of films, documentaries and instructional videos, predominantly in English. TU Graz library has licensed all material tagged with "The Arts". You can access the database within the IP range of TU Graz or via VPN off-campus if you are a student or employee of TU Graz.

Women Science Technology - 100 years of women at TU Graz

The exhibition "Women Science Technology" organized by the TU Graz Archive gives an insight into the history of emancipation at the University of Technology.

The so-called Glöckel Decree of 1919 allowed women in Austria to enroll in technical studies for the first time. In 1935, Martha Spiera was the first woman to graduate. After that, it was still a long way to go until the university appointed the first female professor, Karin Wilhelm in 1991. The exhibition revives the stories of all the remarkable female pioneers of TU Graz and presents current activities of the Office for Gender Equality and Equal Opportunity.

The opening of the exhibition is part of the symposium celebrating 100 years of women at TU Graz.
