38 students from Graz University of Technology were awarded one of the prestigious "TU Graz 100" scholarships at the scholarship ceremony in the auditorium of Graz University of Technology. The students from a wide range of disciplines went through a multi-stage selection process. Only the best of the best qualify for the Bachelor's and Master's scholarships, which are funded by numerous companies, associations and the City of Graz. With these scholarships, talented young people can focus even more on their studies. At the same time, the sponsors are investing in the future of Styria as a centre of business and higher education.

Competition for the brightest minds

"The competition for the brightest minds in science and technology is enormous and starts sooner and sooner. With the TU Graz 100 scholarships, we are increasingly attracting international talents who would otherwise have favoured other places," says TU Graz Rector Horst Bischof. "I am glad that we have so many sponsors supporting us, without their funding the programme would be impossible. At the same time, companies and the region benefit from this investment, because today's grantees are the skilled professionals of tomorrow."

Mentoring by researchers from TU Graz

The 32 Bachelor's and six Master's students were presented with their scholarship certificates by the sponsors in person. The bachelor's scholarships are endowed with 4,000 euros per academic year, while the master's students receive 8,000 euros per academic year. The students are supported by academic mentors at TU Graz and gain important insights into business practice through their close relationship with the sponsors. The scholarships run for a maximum of two years and are linked to proof of performance.

Prominent partners as sponsors

Thanks to the support of eleven companies, associations and institutions, a total of 81 students are currently benefiting from a "TU Graz 100" scholarship. The 38 newly awarded scholarships are funded by the following sponsors:

  • City of Graz
  • Huawei
  • Styrian Federation of Austrian Industries
