Graz grows on you when you move here. I'll admit it was hard at first to fit in with the whole language barrier, and moving from a big city to a smaller one but you get used to it pretty quickly and that's what is so nice about it. After living here for 3 years, I still learn something new every day about this city and it never ceases to amaze me how trivial facts can be so entertaining.
I started my studies during COVID, so it wasn't so easy to hang out with other students, so it was mainly online. Therefore, as a student, now that the city is open (mostly) again , I HIGHLY recommend that you attend events so you can network with other students whether they are local or international because you will meet new people, make friends, and above all else, make memories!
When I first moved here I noticed that everyone was friendly and helped you with everything. This is a really important point, especially if you are going to a foreign country.
Moreover, it is a very beautiful city to live in every sense. If you are a nature lover, there is a magnificent nature, if you like social life, there are always all kinds of activities you can join. There you have the opportunity to make friends from all over the world! It's an international city and it makes you very open-minded. Apart from this, there are many beautiful and historical buildings and it is fascinating to see that these have been preserved to this day.
Graz is home to successful universities which train qualified students. As I have observed closely I can say that you are really lucky if you are going to be a student here.
