Game Dev legend Patrice Désilets – creator of Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and CEO of Panache Digital – will give a talk at TU Graz.
Patrice is at the head of Panache Digital games, an independent Montreal-based studio he co-founded in 2014. With a background in film and theatre and now counting 22 years of game design under the belt, he his mostly known for his work on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and as the creative director behind the global success franchise Assassin’s Creed from his years at Ubisoft Montreal. His first independent title Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, a historical action-adventure survival game, is throwing players in the African jungle 10 million years ago and asking one simple question: “You Homo Sapiens, can you survive like your ancestors did?”
Creating an ambitious open-world survival game on the evolution of the Humankind with a small team as a new studio is quite a challenge, but none that cannot be tackled. From the foundation of Panache Digital Games with a team of seven people in 2014, Panache has since grown into a talented team of thirty-something game developers determined to push boundaries and offer unique experiences.
How did we bring Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey to life? By promoting the sharing of ideas, fostering ownership, keeping processes lean and focused and making sure we have a playable build at all times.
