In yesterday’s meeting of the University Council of TU Graz chaired by Karin Schaupp, two women vice rectors and two men vice rectors were appointed to the next term of the Rectorate after confirmation by the Senate. In addition to Rector Harald Kainz, who was re-elected for a third term of office in a shortened procedure in June 2018, Andrea Hoffmann, Claudia von der Linden, Horst Bischof and – new to the team – Stefan Vorbach will be guiding the fortunes of TU Graz from October onwards.

Stefan Vorbach, head of the Institute of General Management and Organisation at TU Graz will take over as Vice Rector for Academic Affairs in October 2019. Each was confirmed in their appointment as follows: Horst Bischof as Vice Rector for Research, Andrea Hoffmann as Vice Rector for Human Resources and Finance, and Claudia von der Linden as Vice Rector for Digitalisation and Change Management.

Rector Harald Kainz: “I’m delighted to be starting my third period of office in October with such a strong team. We will continue the dynamic development of TU Graz and dedicate ourselves with unstinting energy to the challenges of the future facing our university. An outstanding researcher and passionate teacher, Stefan Vorbach will take over the Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs, and will continue the innovative work of the outgoing Vice Rector, Detlef Heck.” Further enhancement of the international visibility of TU Graz will be part of the strategic focus in the new term of the Rectorate as will be profile development in research. An additional objective is to make TU Graz more attractive for national and international teaching staff, researchers and students, and to promote their collaboration. Digitalisation and change management as well as the entrepreneurial university will round off the portfolio of strategic focus in the coming term of the Rectorate.
