Prevention provides security

Emergencies lose some of their horror when you know what to do when things get serious. Answers to the question “What to do if ...?” can be found in the TU Graz emergency manual for a total of 19 different emergency scenarios. The scenarios covered range from fires to criminal activities and power outages. Familiarise yourself with the emergency scenarios described in the emergency manual.

What to do in an emergency?

Doing the right thing fast is required in emergency situations. Preparation for various crisis scenarios is therefore essential.
In an emergency: Don’t panic but alert the relevant authorities. Protect yourself, save persons/extinguish fires if you can. If necessary, go to the respective assembly point. Comply with the instructions of the respective emergency organisations and do not obstruct them. Please pay attention to the signage in the building.

How and where can I report emergencies?

Do not be afraid to submit a report. Regardless of whether it is “only” a missing fire extinguisher or damage such as a defective railing. Every “mistake” is an improvement and helps to create a safe environment. Dial the number of the alarm mobile phone 0664 85 92 365, or the short number *111 on a TU Graz landline telephone – you will reach a contact person here at any time. There is an information and service point at the porter’s lodge on every TU Graz campus – you can also report emergencies, defects or damage here at any time: Read more.

All employees with positions such as safety officers, first aiders and fire safety officers as well as interested parties are invited to install the “safeREACH” app on their mobile phones. Using this app, you can alert the right people in seconds and also be notified yourself in an emergency. The Preventive Service Department will unlock the app version for you and show you how it works. Send an email with your mobile phone number to be activated to praeventivdienstnoSpam@tugraz.at
