Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) is committed to sustainability. This has been articulated in the Roadmap Klimaneutrale TU Graz 2030 , among other things, and is put into practice in everyday university life. Last year, all event rooms at TU Graz were awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for tourism, catering and cultural organisations (Green Location). As matter of principle, TU Graz attaches great importance to efficiency and reduces its consumption of water, energy and resources wherever possible. Attention is paid to avoiding waste and, where this is impossible, recycling or other utilisation options are used. The three campus locations of TU Graz are easy to reach by tram, bicycle or on foot, making environmentally friendly travel possible and optimising procurement routes. Accessibility is emphasised in terms of social sustainability.

Green Events

Thanks to TU Graz’s certification as a Green Location, events that take place on campus have already taken a few steps towards certification as Green Events or Green Meetings. “We have set ourselves the ambitious goal of becoming a climate-neutral university by 2030. With the support of all members of TU Graz, we will achieve this goal together,” says Michael Monsberger, Vice Rector for Infrastructure and Sustainability.

All information on the comprehensive Climate-Neutral TU Graz project can be found online at Klimaneutrale TU Graz.
