We would like to invite you to the BioTechMed-Graz Faculty Club at TU Graz. Georg Langs, head of the Computational Imaging Research Lab (CIR) at the Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy at the Medical University of Vienna, will talk about „Machine Learning in Medical Imaging Bridges Clinical Care and Discovery”.

The role of machine learning in medical imaging

The talk will discuss the role of machine learning in medical imaging. It will illustrate how methods useful in supporting clinical decisions can bridge large scale real life patient populations with the discovery of novel treatments. He will outline the challenges of coping with the continually evolving heterogeneity of imaging technology, normal patient individuality, and often subtle patterns associated with disease progression and treatment response. The talk will use several examples from clinical care, and biomedical research to motivate the approaches.

Following the Faculty Club, the Board of Directors of BioTechMed-Graz will announce the Call for Applications 2025 and the new membership criteria.

After the Flagship Lecture we invite you to a small buffet in the Rooftop Mensa from 6.30 to 9 p.m.
