Interactive stations: Meeting point at 14:05 at the shuttle bus (Inffeldgasse 10) or 14:15 at the Infopoint Neue Technik (Steyrergasse 30).
Are you interested in the following degree programmes in the field of computer science?
Info-Session: 10:20 - 11:00 Uhr, Location: HS i13, Inffeldgasse 16b/Tiefparterre
Interactive stations: You can visit the stations from 12:30 to 15:30. You can get the map at the info point in front of the building at Inffeldgasse 10, at the information stand of the study program and after the info session. Below you can find the map and brief descriptions of the stations for the degree programmes in the field of computer science.
STATION 1
Location: droneSpace, Inffeldgasse 25/E, EG (MEEG152)
Camera drones are flying robots. Using AI algorithms, people and other objects can be recognized in images taken by the drones. This technology can be used to search for missing persons or for surveying and inspection applications.
STATION 2
Location: Vorplatz Inffeldgasse 16b
Team TEDUSAR (Technology and EDucation for Urban Search And Rescue robots) develops autonomous search and exploration robots to support emergency teams in disaster situations. In this environment they have to deal with several challenges: unstructured physical environments, automatic creation of maps, autonomous collection of information.
STATION 3
Location: Foyer Inffeldgasse 12 and in front of lecture room i2
Explore and interact on the following topics:
• Demo-Laboratory exercise on DC/DC converters
• virtual reality: touch, move and experience electrical charges with your hands in VR-glasses
• Inspect integrated circuits (chips on wafer) under microscope
• Electrostatic discharge experiments with an ESD gun
*special focus on the Information & Computer Engineering degree program – in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology)
STATION 4
Location: Hörerlabor, HF EG020, Inffeldgasse 12
A Tesla coil is a transformer invented by Nikola Tesla which produces high-frequency alternating currents. The original goal of the inventor was to transmit electrical energy wirelessly.
*special focus on the Information & Computer Engineering degree program – in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology)
STATION 5
Location: HCC Lab, Sandgasse 36/EG (Data House)
The Human-Centered Computing Labs at Graz University of Technology focus on advancing technology and methods to understand humans and complement their skills. Our interdisciplinary approach aims to design technologies that amplify, augment, empower, and enhance human capabilities.
STATION 6
Location: Foyer Sandgasse 36/EG (Data House)
STATION 7
Location: Foyer Sandgasse 36/EG (Data House)
Dive into the world of Big Data and Data Science! As a team, the members of the TU Graz Data Team meet challenges that arise in a wide variety of areas, such as estimating the energy consumption of houses, identifying animals captured with wildlife cameras, or solving scientific problems in the field of text analysis.
STATION 8
Location: DHEG136E (Showroom), Sandgasse 36/EG (Data House)
Would you like to play the piano but don't have time to learn it from scratch? We use augmented reality to combine musical instructions with the view of the instrument. The intuitive and natural visualization of songs allows beginners to play any song without having to read sheet music.
STATION 9
Location: DHEG136E (Showroom), Sandgasse 36/EG (Data House)
Immerse yourself in the world of archaeology! Try your hand as an archaeologist at the virtual reassembly of one of the most important Austrian marble artifacts from the early Christian period!
STATION 10
Location: DHEG136E (Showroom), Sandgasse 36/EG (Data House)
Discover how modern optical quality control works in industry – place a cookie in our inspection station and watch live as a camera and AI analyze whether it's damaged or not.
STATION 11
Location: DHEG054, Sandgasse 36/EG (Data House)
GRIPS (Graz Robust and Intelligent Production System) develops robots that are able to plan, implement and optimize material flows and the delivery of products in response to dynamic orders.
Station 12
Location: DHEG054, Sandgasse 36/EG (Data House)
Here you can immerse yourself in the fascinating world of embedded systems - invisible but ubiquitous technologies in cars, smartphones and household appliances. Visitors will experience three exciting applications: how real-time systems work, innovative methods for indoor localisation without GPS and the optimisation of modern battery systems in electric vehicles.
*special focus on the Information & Computer Engineering degree program – in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology)
Station 13
Location: DHEG054, Sandgasse 36/EG (Data House)
Three sensor systems with measurements from the field of absorption spectroscopy (e.g. determining the composition of air or the atmosphere), distributed temperature and stress measurement technology with glass fibers (e.g. monitoring buildings) and a setup for telemetric measurement of torque on a shaft with metamaterials (e.g. for e-mobility or robotics) will be on display.
*special focus on the Information & Computer Engineering degree program – in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology)
Station 14 & 15
Location: Data House, Sandgasse 36/EG (DHEG107)
In the Game Lab Graz, we explore the potential of video games by developing and designing virtual, engaging, and immersive experiences. Our research covers diverse domain disciplines, including education, science communication and urban simulation, with a strong focus on game development, artificial intelligence, and interactive technologies. Together with the student team Game Dev Students Graz, the Game Lab Graz will showcase a variety of game development projects, which you can try out yourself.
STATION 16 & 17
Location: ISEC Gebäude, Inffeldgasse 16A, EG
