On June 17, the Institute of Design and Building Typology (IGL) will present the results of the study “Trofaiach - An der Hauptstraße”, carried out in cooperation with the municipality of Trofaiach. Based on design projects developed by 14 students as part of the institute’s 2018/19 winter semester design studio, the study deals with the question of possible strategies and visions for the future development of the center of Trofaiach. The exhibition presents reflections on access to existing buildings as well as the virulent issue of activating the center of mid-sized cities in rural regions. A publication of the same name will be presented as part of the exhibition opening, in which both results of the design studio and results of further research are shown.
