We all know them: the architectural photographs that portray architecture as purist sculpture, immaculate and ever picture-ready. Future users, traces of use and inhabitation are often hidden, pushed aside or at best hinted at by figures darting into the frame.

In searching for a better solution, architecture students of the Institute of Architectural Theory, History of Art and Cultural Studies (akk) Master Studio spent one semester addressing these empty spaces in architectural photography.

The result is a diverse range of approaches that - with reflection, wit, and subtle criticism - bring users of real architecture in Graz to the forefront.

In this sense: please do not move!

The Master Studio was accompanied by artist Ryts Monet. The group projects created with him, focusing on the artificial world, will also be on display.
