SciPost was founded in 2016 by scientists as an independent publication platform for physics and others. In June 2022, the 2,000th article was published. SciPost does not require fees from readers or authors and is collectively funded by libraries and research institutions, including TU Graz.

Starting from the first quarter of 2023, a report on all published open access articles supported by TU Graz will be provided on a quarterly basis.

Starting from 2023, TU Graz has signed a consortium agreement with other institutions and Oxford University Press (OUP). This includes access to journals dating back to 1996 and the possibility for members of TU Graz to publish with OUP Open Access at no additional cost.

As a new member of the Taylor & Francis Consortium, corresponding authors of Graz University of Technology can now publish Open Access articles in hybrid and Gold OA journals. Participation in the consortium grants a 30% discount on all APCs.
