Digital media are enriching architectural production in many ways: through simulation, design and planning instruments, new fabrication and construction processes, and the generation of new spatial experiences. Digital machines have long ceased to be machines in the traditional sense. They are capable of expanding our sensual perception and taking on more and more of our cognitive tasks. GAM.10 – "Intuition & the Machine" discusses the consequences of these developments for intuitively steered processes in architecture. Are our very own human capacities being challenged? Or are new potentials opening up for a more sense-sensitive, intuitive handling of complexity in architectural design. GAM.10 presents architectural projects, concepts, and design experiments that have resulted from the interaction of digital, architectural, and sensory worlds of experience.
