From 2022, fuels must contain not only biofuels but also a proportion of so-called ‘advanced biofuels’ - starting at 0.2% in 2022 and rising to 3.5% in 2030. The project at hand deals with the development of a patent-pending hydrogenation process for the production of propanol as an advanced biofuel based on crude glycerol up to pilot scale.
