Biography
Juan M. Morales is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Málaga, in Spain. He is currently the head of the research group Optimization and Analytics for Sustainable energY Systems (OASYS). Previously he held a position as an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the Technical University of Denmark, where he also worked as a Hans Christian Ørsted postdoctoral researcher before that. Besides, he was an assistant professor in the Center for Electric Power and Energy of the same university. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering in December 2010 at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), with the PhD thesis "Impact on System Economics and Security of a High Penetration of Wind Power," where he developed algorithms to facilitate the large-scale integration of wind power production in electric energy systems. Previously he got his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering at the University of Málaga, Spain.
