Integrated optimization of the operation of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems.

The combination of PV or wind power and energy storage is a promising approach for sustainable and reliable energy supply. Energy storage can help balance the natural fluctuations in electricity generation from renewable energy sources and enable more efficient integration into the power grid. The current challenge is that the optimal operation of PV/wind plants and energy storage systems is often optimized separately. The focus of this project, which is being carried out in collaboration with Verbund AG, is therefore to examine the (profit) advantages that can arise from the integrated optimization of the operation of PV or wind power plants and energy storage systems.
