The Call for Papers for the 17th Symposium Energy Innovation has been published.
From 16.-18. The 17th Energy Innovation Symposium will take place at TU Graz in February 2022. The symposium is organized by the Institute for Electricity Economics and Energy Innovation (IEE) at Graz University of Technology together with the Austrian Association for Electrical Engineering (OVE), OesterreichsEnergie (representing the interests of the Austrian electrical industry) and the World Energy Council Austria. The theme of this year's event is:
"FUTURE OF ENERGY - Innovations for a climate-neutral future".
Sustainable development is mankind's most important challenge and the corresponding global objectives and measures are laid down in the UN's “Sustainable Development Goals”. More and more people around the world are directly affected by the climatic changes that are taking place and, in particular, their effects (e.g. extreme weather events, forest fires, floods, glacier retreat, rise in sea level). From a scientific point of view, this is impressively confirmed by the current IPCC report. The world is heading towards potentially irreversible changes (tipping points) which will fundamentally change life on earth for humans. In line with these findings, at the coming world climate conference COP26 at the end of October 2021, based on the Paris Agreement, more stringent (energy management) measures to combat global climate change will be discussed.
The challenges presented must not lead to resignation, but rather must be seen as an opportunity to shape our energy future in a positive and active manner!
Representatives of science and research, business, NGOs, associations as well as politics and administration are therefore called upon to make appropriate contributions in the sense of a prosperous development of the European energy industry and society and these will be presented and intensively discussed at the symposium.
- Methods, models and scenarios for a climate-neutral energy system
- The future of renewable energies Energy and electricity markets
- Requirements for transport and distribution infrastructures (electricity, gas, heat)
- Sector coupling, flexibilization, hydrogen and energy storage
- Energy efficiency, digitization and smart energy systems
- Energy and mobility in the future
We cordially invite you to submit an abstract by December 1, 2021. The participation fee for this three-day symposium is only 350 EURO for speakers. For more information, please refer to the Call for Papers.
