EGSIEM: European Gravity Service for Improved Emergency Management

The EGSIEM project, which is funded by the Horizon2020 Framework Program for Research and Innovation of the European Union, aims at delivering the best time-variable gravity products for applications in Earth and environmental science research. This goal will be realized by providing combined gravity field solutions using the know-how of the major European analysis centers. Additionally, a near real-time gravity service will be established at TU Graz and the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which will deliver global and regional gravity field solutions with a maximum delay of five days as basis for flood and drought prediction. Overall project lead is the Astronomical Institute of the University Bern (CH), other contributing partners are the German Aerospace Center (D), University Luxembourg (LUX), University Hannover (D), CNES (F) and Géode & Cie (F).
