The project study deals with disaster management operations of public authorities, police departments with safety applications, NGOs, and industry for the efficient performing of the envisaged tasks. In addition, a cataloguing of the tasks is provided in order to give an overview about the requirements and to derive corresponding needs for action. The contributions from Graz University of Technology include the requirement analysis for the assessment of communication systems for data exchange between the airborne platforms and dedicated ground stations, performed by IKS, as well as the assessment of remote sensing systems performed by IFP.
From these collective observations, summaries and recommendations will be derived for the airborne safety monitoring topic for the protection of the Austrian country and its critical infrastructure.
