I completed my master's program at Graz University of Technology in 2013 with highest distinction. The paper resulting from my master's thesis was awarded as a "Best Student Paper Award - Finalist" at the ICRA 2014. Currently I am a research assistant and PhD candidate at the Institute for Computer Graphics and Vision, Graz University of Technology, Austria.
My research is focused on autonomous 3D reconstruction with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). For improved efficiency, we use machine learning to predict suitable constellations of images for the currently observed scene and thus enable scene adaptive 3D reconstruction. The competencies acquired in my PhD range from autonomous UAV navigation and view planning over machine learning to 3D reconstruction of any kind (structure-from-motion, stereo, multi-view stereo, sparse/dense/semi-dense 3D reconstruction and meshing).
