Description

HYDREAMS: Leading Decarbonization in Steel Production
We are proud to be part of HYDREAMS, an innovative European flagship project aimed at accelerating the decarbonization of the steel industry. With a bold mission to reduce CO2 emissions by 4.5 million tonnes per year by 2032, HYDREAMS is set to transform steel production by utilizing clean hydrogen and cutting-edge oxycombustion technology to significantly lower emissions.
The project focuses on decarbonization through the integration of clean hydrogen combustion technology, offering a scalable, real-world solution for the steel industry. In addition to demonstrating the technology, a comprehensive techno-economic assessment will analyze the cost-effectiveness of clean hydrogen solutions, particularly the integration of H2 production into steel production processes.
Aligned with the EU Green Steel Strategy, HYDREAMS aims to scale hydrogen combustion technology across Europe, starting with annealing and reheating furnaces.
