The Science, Technology and Society Unit is based on the Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science (ISDS). We deal with technology and science from a human, socio-cultural and cultural perspective and with the interactions of technology, innovations and its acceptance or rejection in society.
This reciprocal relationship as well as the diverse effects on nature and the environment are the subject of our research. In this broad field, as a research group working in transdiciplinary teams, we have developed a number of focal points. These include, in particular, dealing with innovations in biomedicine and biotechnology, areas of sustainability, ecological product policy, energy and mobility and gender-specific aspects of technology.
