Travel by train

The Austrian Federal Railways, short ÖBB, are well connected internationally and offer various day and night connections to Graz. Graz Central Train Station (Graz Hauptbahnhof) is your destination when travelling by train. It is one of Austria's most important train stations. ÖBB tickets are available on smartphones via the ÖBB App (link) and online at shop.oebbtickets.at (link). During peak travel time, it is recommended to reserve a seat in advance due to increased passenger numbers.

The city centre can easily be reached by public transport directly from Graz Central Train Station. Tram lines 1, 6 and 7 leave the train station every few minutes heading towards the city center. Please check Graz: Public Transport to find out more about how to get around Graz.

Please find below an overview of day and night connections to Graz. On the first map, you find all day trains with travelling time under 12 hours. On the second map, you find all night trains to and from Graz and Vienna. During the day, train connections from Darmstadt, Torino and Wroclaw are available that only require you to change trains once. As for night trains, there is a direct connection available from Wroclaw/Katowice to Graz and one from Torino which requires you to change twice - once in Milano and once in Bruck/Mur at the beginning and the end of the journey. Please click on the map to enlarge and find out more about the available connections.

Please note that the ÖBB timetable will be updated on 10 December 2023. It is therefore possible that local, regional and long-distance connections will be changed or cancelled at the time of the timetable change, that additional services may be added to the timetable data or that the departure or arrival times or the operating transport company may still change. ÖBB kindly ask all passengers to review the current timetable of their connection in due time before starting their journey.
