As part of the research cooperation with AVL List GmbH in the field of drive system development, the Transmission Center (expansion stage I) was officially opened in 2017. Here, on a test area of approx. 750 m² basic investigations in the field of tribology, gear technology and drive system development are carried out. For this purpose, appropriate test benches were installed covering the following topics:

• testing electric powertrains
• swivel investigations
• friction analysis
• function tests
• Radio Isotope Concentration Test
• special investigations

The institute's own facilities and test bench technology are being used by AVL List GmbH, which enable correspondingly demanding research projects and at the same time provide the students with an advanced environment for the preparation of scientific work.
