On Friday, April 13, 2018 the Long Night of Research took place this year. This year, the AVL - TU Graz Transmission Center opened its doors for the first time for people interested in technology within the framework of this biennial event. Many people took advantage of this unique opportunity to gain exciting insights into drive system development. The interactive stations, such as a tour of AVL test benches with virtual reality glasses, were an exciting experience for the whole family.
The AVL - TU Graz Transmission Center is a research center at the Institute for machine components and methods of development at the Graz University of Technology, which was established as a result of a cooperation between the Graz University of Technology and AVL List GmbH. The focus is on the development of drive systems and transmissions for various applications. For this purpose, the research center on the Inffeldgasse campus has a state-of-the-art research infrastructure and a large number of different test rigs on an area of approx. 750 m². The topics of the AVL - TU Graz Transmission Center range from basic research in the field of structural analysis and tribology, prototype development to the analysis of near-series concepts.
