Lightning Observation in the Alps

The Austrian Alpine region is one of the lightning hotspots in Europe. The project "Lightning Observation in the Alps (LiOn)" records cloud-to-ground lightning of thunderstorms at selected measurement locations in the Alpine regions of Austria.
