• 1996: Retirement of Prof. Weiß, Prof. Zagar takes over on an interim basis:
  Institute of Electrical Measurement and Measurement Signal Processing (EMT)
• 1999: Prof. Georg Brasseur takes over,
   the premises in Kopernikusgasse are no longer sufficient, some of the employees move into laboratory and office premises in Schießstattgasse and later move into the newly adapted premises of the school building in Kronesgasse.
• 2012: The previously dispersed groups can be united on one floor of the Inffeldgasse Campus
• 2016 Foundation of the Institute of Electronic Sensor Systems (IES) under Prof. Alexander Bergmann
• 2020 Fusion of EMT and IES under Prof. Alexander Bergmann:
  Institute for Electrical Measurement and Sensor Systems (EMS)

Our institute is located on the Inffeldgasse campus, spread over two buildings:
The research groups Sensor Systems and Sensor Physics and Photonic Sensors are located on the first floor of the EBS building, Inffeldgasse 33.

The working group Energy Aware Measurement Systems is located on the second floor of the PZ4 building, Inffeldgasse 23.
