The Learning Analytics & Knowledge Services (LAKS) group combines expertises in computer science and learning analytics as well as research data management and life science. In the working area of learning analytics, the group analyses data about learners in different contexts in order to understand and optimize learning behaviour and environments. For Knowledge Services, the group implements and deploys cyberinfrastructures for researchers and supports discipline-specific use cases in the life sciences. In the intersection of the two areas lies the learning aspect which is essential when implementing knowledge services and is the focal point of investigation in learning analytics.
