The chemistry area of our faculty stands for basic and application-oriented research at a highly internationally recognized level in the main areas of
- molecular chemistry, bioactive substances, (food) sensors, method development in analytics, electrochemistry and material chemistry
- in cooperation with the Polymer Competence CenterLeoben (PCCL), the focus in the area of application-oriented material chemistry / macromolecular chemistry is on new hybrid materials
- another focus is in the area of smart energy related materials, for example the TU's own battery research center for materials.
The chemistry institutes of the faculty are key players in the TU-internal FoE Advanced Material Science.
