The first PHD-Day of 2024 took place on February 5th as part of the Doctoral School of Architecture. The event was led and organised by Matthias Castorph and Svenja Hollstein (Design in Existing Structures and Architectural Heritage Protection). Overall, fifteen ongoing dissertations were presented and subsequently discussed in a panel discussion. The talks also welcomed interested students and fellow members of the faculty. With regard to content, the various individual research projects encompassed historical as well as more theoretical approaches, as well as practice-orientated design research through to in-depth engineering research. Collectively, the presentations and discussions afforded a comprehensive insight into the broad spectrum of academic research at the Faculty of Architecture.
