Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)

Six out of nine universities from the Unite!-University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering (co-funded by Erasmus+) are joining the consortium. Additionally, CUAS as a university of applied sciences puts a focus on the application of microelectronics.

The HEIs are involved in all activities with a major role in the design of the curriculum and short courses (WP2), in the development of learning content (WP3) and running the pilot courses for two cohorts of 150 students (WP4); but they also will strongly engage in the exchange programmes of staff and students & interactive learning formats (WP5), decide on needs for upgrading digital infrastructure (WP6) and participate in the dissemination and the sustainability concept (WP7).

Business and Training Partners

The business partners cover the microelectronics supply chain from R&D, Design tools, chip design, semiconductor manufacturing and assembly to the applications in the energy or building sectors and will share their knowledge of new market developments with university and research partners.

The role will be similar to the role of the research partners but with a larger focus regarding the practical hands-on trainings via internships and interactive formats for students. The SMEs and big companies will have a strong consultancy role in the conceptual design (WP2) and the learning content development (WP3). Tasks in theses work packages will be the participation in workshops for the analysis of skills needs, defining competencies for new market developments regarding the green energy transition and support in the creation of content. In the delivery of the programmes (WP4), they will provide external lecturers. In the implementation of interactive formats, as summer schools, maker spaces or hackathons or Learn repair cafes (WP5) they will strongly be involved in the design, the provision of use cases and practical support of the projects. They will also supervise internships for Master theses. They will also engage in student mobility programmes. They will participate also in the upgrading of infrastructure (WP6) regarding the identification of sharable infrastructure and offering hands-on training on the equipment purchased in the action. In WP7 outreach & dissemination they will participate in dissemination measures.
