elabFTW is a free and open-source lab book. It is written in PHP and uses a MySQL database alowing to run Docker containers. It lets you store and organize your research experiments easily. It also features a database where any kind of objects (such as antibodies, plasmids, cell lines, boxes, etc.) can be stored. It is accessed via the browser. Several research teams can be hosted on the same installation. This means eLabFTW can be installed at the institute level and host all team members at the same place. Designed by researchers, for researchers, with usability in mind.

• Secure: Entries and transmission are encrypted
• Timestamps: RFC 3161 compliant timestamping of experiments.
• Inventory management: Apart from experience logs, it also can manage the inventory
• Import and export: Entries can be imported and exported in  in PDF, ZIP, CSV, JSON.
• Customize and draw: Draw doodles directly with your mouse, draw molecules with Chemdoodle, you can change the colors, the status list, the items types list, set custom shortcuts, etc.
• Structure: Use templates for your experiments, create todolists, steps to your protocols or experiments.
• API and Programming: Use the REST API for accessing programmatically your data with an external program (see API Documentation)
