Dr. Eugen Brenner

Kurzbiographie

Eugen Brenner ist Ao.Univ.-Prof.i.R. am Institut für Technische Informatik der Technischen Universität Graz. Er schloss sein Diplomstudium der Elektrotechnik 1983 an der TU in Graz ab, die Diplomarbeit beschäftigte sich mit Entwurf und Aufbau von Hard- und Software einer Steuerung für einen 6-Achsen Kleinroboter. Das Doktorat der Technischen Wissenschaften absolvierte er ebenfalls in Graz, am Institut für Regelungstechnik. Die Arbeit beschäftigte sich mit zeitoptimalen Regelungen in Systemen mit Stellgrößenbeschränkung. Er ist seit 1987 Mitglied des Instituts für Technische Informatik und war dabei der erste wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter. Die Habilitation erfolgte 1996 für das Fach Prozessautomatisierung. Eugen Brenner war unter anderem Mitglied des Senats, der Curricula-Kommission für Bachelor- und Masterstudien der TU Graz, Mitglied verschiedener Studienkommissionen und Studiendekan für Telematik bzw. Information and Computer Engineering. Er hat an verschiedenen EU-Projekten zur Thematik von Learning-Outcomes in Bereich der Höheren Bildung und des lebenslangen Lernens teilgenommen. Die primären Forschungsinteressen entwickelten sich von FPGA-basierten Hardwareerweiterungen für parallele Systeme, von Echtzeitsystemen und Prozesssteuerungen hin zu Systemmodellierung, Softwareentwicklung, Systems Engineering und Systemsicherheit bis zu agilen Methoden und Smart Systems Development. Zahlreiche Projekte mit akademischen und industriellen Partnern beinhalteten Themen wie Softwareentwicklung für automotive Systeme, Kommunikationsprotokolle und -Baugruppen, Energie-Management, funktionale Sicherheit, agile smarte Systeme und Industrie 4.0.

Seit dem 1. Oktober 2021 ist Herr Brenner im Ruhestand, wirkt aber am Institut noch weiter mit, sowohl in Lehre und Forschung als auch bei der Betreuung wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten.
