PhD workshop

A one-day doctoral course on the topic of EMI/EMC will be held by Jan Hansen (TU Graz, Austria) on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Brief summary about the workshop (more details will follow soon):

The simulation of problems in electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronic systems is a challenging task. On the one hand, subtle coupling paths and tiny, noise-like signals must be modeled and predicted. On the other hand, there is a large variety of numerical methods, among which the simulation engineer must identify the most suitable one to successfully solve a given problem.

In this workshop you learn the fundamentals of EMI/EMC problems and how to solve them numerically. We discuss different approaches and match them to practical application cases. The workshop is held in the computer lab of the Institute of Electronics. Exemplary cases are worked on by the students, using circuit and 3d simulation tools.
