As part of a final workshop, the central START2030 project results were presented from WIFO, IEE and CESAR .
The START2030 project dealt with a comprehensive analysis of the economic and social impacts of a transition to a 100% renewable electricity system (national balance) by 2030. In order to carry out these investigations, the electricity economic model ATLANTIS of the IEE was coupled with the macroeconomic model DYNK of the WIFO .
Based on a baseline scenario, in which the developments in electricity consumption and newly installed power plant capacities of the last few years have been continued linearly, four scenarios have been developed in which the 100% target is achieved. In addition, due to the current situation, sensitivity analyzes were carried out with higher gas prices.
The presentations of the workshop as well as further information about the project and detailed results can be found on the project website.
"START2030" is funded by the Climate and Energy Fund and carried out as part of the "ACRP" program.
