Our university assistant, David Cardona-Vásquez, attended this year’s annual conference from the International Association of Energy Economics.

There he presented his research on Basis-Oriented time series aggregation, a novel concept initially developed by Sonja Wogrin to improve the computational tractability of power systems optimization models.

In his presentation, he illustrated how combining an existing solution of a model and its input data can greatly improve the process of finding accurate decompositions, when considering a different set of inputs.

This work is part of the ERC-funded starting grant NetZero-Opt awarded to Sonja Wogrin in 2024.
