Decarbonising our mobility is an absolute necessity to combat the climate crisis. At the same time, this needed change in our mobility offers the opportunity to significantly improve the quality of life in our cities. Both can be achieved by reorganising, changing the function and justly share of mobility spaces. Yet such projects often fail to be implemented due to bureaucratic as well as financial or practical obstacles. The project trans|formator:in, funded by the Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft FFG, explores precisely these processes and the associated difficulties. The aim is to overcome barriers in order to promote projects of transformation of mobility spaces. The associated publication will present a catalogue of best practice examples that are a source of inspiration - and courage ("Mut") - for transformation processes.
In the course „Spaces of Mobility“, we will examine these pilot projects, describe our findings and thus contribute to this publication. In the course of the semester, each student will create a project analysis, present it and graphically prepare it for the publication.
