Research

The Institute of Urbanism sees itself as a "think tank" that combines research and design with the aim of promoting socially, economically and ecologically sustainable development of regions. The Institute's projects can be categorised into three main areas: 1. TERRITORY/MOBILITY, TERRITORY/PLANNING and INTERSTITIAL SPACE. Here, the institute places particular emphasis on interdisciplinary and inter-institutional cooperation with actors from research, administration, politics, business, associations and interest groups. This enables the integration of topics such as sustainability and ecology, sociology, energy efficiency, resource management and sociology into urban design. The aim of dealing with all these topics is to improve the quality of the space for its users.
