The impact of climate change and the increasing occurrence of extreme weather events are shaping our approach to urban planning and construction. This seminar explores the concept of adaptive urbanism in the face of risks and examines regions vulnerable to various types of risks, including natural, climatic, and industrial factors. Our goal is to understand these risks and find ways to design and build cities that can handle them better.
We'II explore both the technical and social aspects of dealing with these risks in urban planning and construction. The seminar consists of an lntroduction into the theoretical and conceptual understanding of hazards, as well as discussions and presentations by students based on analyses of existing situations and possible responses in the fields of architecture, urbanism, and landscape management.
