Welcome to the Power Electronic Systems Research Group

The research of the group addresses all aspects and challenges of modern power electronic systems in a systematic approach, for a wide range of applications (e.g., e-mobility and EV-charging, renewable energies, digitalization, DC-grids, advanced industry automation) and performs cutting-edge research in these areas.
Main research areas of the group are:

•    Design of optimal power converters considering size and weight, efficiency, costs, reliability, time to market.
•    Three-phase power converters, e.g., for e-mobility, drives, energy storage, connection of renewables, etc.
•    Solid state transformers
•    Switched mode power amplifiers
•    High frequency switched converters
•    Monitoring, prediction and diagnostics of power converters (Industry 4.0)
•    Multidomain modelling of converters

The proposed concepts are validated by prototype systems within the modern and fully equipped power electronics laboratory.
