The article entitled “A Review of Accelerated Stress Tests for Enhancing MEA Durability in PEM Water Electrolysis Cells” by Eveline Kuhnert, Viktor Hacker and Merit Bodner, published in the International Journal of Energy Research (Wiley) was ranked among the top ten cited articles of the journal in 2023. This review takes a deep dive into the different available accelerated stress tests for PEM water electrolysis and classifies them by targeted degradation mechanism. It also provides comprehensive guidelines for the selection of the best test strategy as well as to address future development needs.
