The workload and bureaucracy often associated with traditional DMPs can be reduced if they become machine-actionable DMPs or maDMPs for short.
The DMP Common Standards WG has developed an application profile that allows information from traditional DMPs to be expressed in a machine-actionable manner. It enables the automatic exchange, integration and validation of information provided in DMPs. It thus facilitates the exchange of information between systems used in the research lifecycle by different people (such as researchers, funders, repository managers, ICT providers, librarians, etc.).
Together with TU Wien, we are working on a tool that enables the processing and administration of DMPs as an institutional solution. Information on the TU Graz DMP Tool can be found here.
