Complex Systems

The research of the group focuses on complex systems. Our research topic are networks in the economic and financial systems. We research about the networks of corporations and how they are related to each other through asset markets, shareholdership and personal ties. Other topics are dependencies in asset markets and vulnerabilities of supply chains.

Are Corporate Boards Ready for Change?

We are currently running an interdisciplinary research project that merges computational social science with corporate finance to understand and model diversity dynamics on corporate boards. It aims to identify the mechanisms that influence the amount of diversity and the effect that it has on the governance of the boards. This project is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).
