December 2024: We are looking for a candidate with proven scientific expertise in the field of "Machine Learning" in research and teaching. Applications from the following areas are welcome. In particular, they should conduct basic research in this area in the overlapping field of sub-symbolic and symbolic Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the prestigious Cluster of Excellence Bilateral AI.
The successful candidate will cover one of these areas or another area of Machine Learning that complements the existing strengths of the department. The professorship will be part of the Institute for Institute of Machine Learning and Neural Computation, which is an internationally renowned research institution that conducts basic research in the area of Machine Learning, Computational Neuroscience, Brain-inspired principles of computation and learning, as well as Probilistic Machine Learning . The institute has been active in these fields for more than 30 years.
The new professor will complement the existing strengths in the department, will build an internationally visible group, and will be an engaged teacher in the Computer Science programs at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD level, and will actively participate in academic self-administration. At Graz University of Technology, undergraduate courses are taught in German or English and graduate courses are taught in English.
