The runoff regime of the Schöttlbach will change from a nival to a more pluvial regime (decreasing importance of snow storage and snowmelt) in the coming decades due to the predicted increase in temperature. With regard to sediment mobilization and sediment load, a disproportionate increase in sediment load can be expected in the future if the frequency of disturbance events falls below the time required to stabilize the torrent system. However, this only applies to catchment areas with high to almost unlimited sediment availability.
Further information will be added here in the future.
