In a near-basic research project, an interdisciplinary team consisting of architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers and materials technologists are required to scientifically prepare the entire process of planning and implementing and UHPC concrete sheel construction made up of precast components. A basis is established for further industry-related developments together with selected industrial partners which are representative of all process steps. Also, for the production of thin-shell components, suitable methods of installation are developed and the UHPC´s material properties accordingly adapted. Innovative technologies based on dry contact joints are used to ensure a force-fit connection of pre-cast components. State-of-the-are tools are employed in the planning and production process, and if necessary, are newly developed. Thus besides digitally capturing the geometry and construction, the research focus is on the development of a mechanically flexible shell and accurate reworking of components using an industrial robot. In the course of the project, the entire production process was successfully visualised. A mock-up measuring 3 x 3m was created. Currently, a larger prototype is being planned in a follow-up project together with Max Bögl Construction and Service Company.
