HICAR (Hydrogen-Iron-Carrier)

Iron oxide is considered a suitable target material for the industrial production of green hydrogen due to its good environmental performance, low cost and good availability. The underlying technology enables the use of structured oxygen carriers for the production and storage of green hydrogen through a chemical looping process. In particular, the present invention relates to a new process for producing a structured oxygen carrier. The AWS project will enable the development of a prototype of a novel oxygen carrier in a full-scale plant.
